Lievens Academy, a dream come true! A dream to reach out to the less privileged sections of the society with quality affordable education. A dream that was very close to the heart of His Eminence Telesphore P. Cardinal Toppo who made this a reality. Lievens Academy was born on May 1st 1999 with the support of INDALCO – Bagru. The School perpetuates the venerable name of the Apostle of Jharkhand – Fr. Constant Lievens, the Belgian missionary who gave his life for the people of Jharkhand, bringing about social and economic emancipation through education with the Motto “Fire Must Burn”. The Congregation of the Apostolic Carmel of the Northern Province collaborates with the Archdiocese to run Lievens Academy.
Following the footsteps of Jesus Christ, His example and teachings the administrators and teachers take up the responsibility for each child’s all round development. Without any difference of caste and creed, a high quality of academic knowledge is passed on through a systematic and well planned syllabus. ‘Fire must burn’ is the motto of the school and with this motto foremost in mind, special attention is given to each child to nourish deep faith in God and to imbibe right values.
