Mount Carmel School, Bhagalpur was opened on 23rd June 1958 with 11 students in a small house that was bought for Franciscan Ashram at Mount Assisi. The request of Monsgr Mc. Garry T.O.R., the Prefect Apostolic of Bhagalpur, was favoured by Mother Sylvia, the then Superior General and with the support of Patna Women’s College, Mount Carmel School, Bhagalpur was founded.
