ICSE English School
1. In the inter-school competitions of all Carmel School held at Jamshedpur on 21st – 22nd August 2007. The students of Carmel High School, Bokaro Thermal performed well and they won the Championship shield.
2. November 1984 : Social Service week, the collections were sent to the T.B. hospital at Gomia.
3. 1990 to 1992 students participate in the Sit and draw competitions Elocution, Essay and writing etc. conducted by N.P.C.C. and D.V.C.
4. In August 1997, in honour of the Golden Jubilee of our Independence, there was a week long Celebraions like:
- Patriotic Songs
- Speeches on freedom fighters
- Folk dances depicting the culture of different states
5. In March 27th 1999 the School had a Public Concert
6. March 2000 – Open Air programme. March past with Drill Display. Every student took part in it.
7. 2002 – 2007 :- Carmel Feast was celebrated in a unique way. Every class acted out a special value received from the Apostolic Carmel Institution. Every class presented packets of candles to the principal.
8. Sports week :- Every year from 2003 the school had a sports week.
9. Independence Day on 15th August and Republic Day on 26th January are kept up with parade, patriotic dances, speeches, songs or skits, both at the school campus as well as on D.V.C. grounds. Various quizzes namely G.K. and Maths, are held.
10. Flower / Vegetable arrangement competitions are also held every year. Class wise poetry competitions both in English and Hindi, One Act play, Fancy dress competitions are held yearly. Teachers’ day and children’s day are celebrated with a good programme. At Christmas, every year, there is Carol singing competition.
11. Students take turns to conduct assemblies class-wise. On 19th of November every year. Each class acts out a glimpse of the life of Mother Veronica.
12. On 9th December 2004 the Golden Jubilee of the school was celebrated.
13. The Science exhibition held on 12.12.2005 to 14.12.2005 was a great success.
14. On 20th December 2006 Carmel School celebrated the death centenary of our foundress Mother Veronica.
15. Workers day celebrated on May First.
PTA : Twice a year, after the first and second term examinations all the parents meet the principal and the respective teachers. They discuss the progress of their wards, accept suggestions as well as give suggestions to the teachers concerned. This has helped in smooth interaction and personal contact with individual students and their parents.
Alumni : The three batches that have passed out are regularly in touch with us. In June 2007 we had a get-together of the Alumni.

Hindi School affiliated to Jharkhand Board
1. 1975 – Students went to Lucknow for an educational tour.
2. 1977 – Scouts and Guides participated in a camp at Poreyahat.
3. 1978 – 54 Guides and 33 Scouts had a camp in the school premises. 4 Scouts and 1 Guide received president badges in November 1979.
4. 1980 – The Silver Jubilee of the school.
5. 2004 – In January 2004 His Eminence Cardinal Tellescope visited the school. The high school children welcomed him in a novel Indian way.
6. In March 2005 the teachers and students attended the seminar on peace and value education. Sister Benedicta Flossy Pinto A.C. and Brother Akhilesh I.M.S. were the resource persons.
7. Carmel School students bagged the 1st prize in the cultural programme organized by DVC in 2005. Carmel High School, Bokaro Thermal Senior Group bagged the shield as a first prize and Junior Group won the shield as a second prize in the cultural programme organized by Bokaro Vicariate.
8. Parents’ Day, Carmel Feast, Republic Day, Independence Day, Foundress’ Day, Teachers’ Day, Workers’ Day, Christmas Celebration and Sports are all annual features.
9. Yearly, the school conducts G.K. test, quizzes, patriotic songs, speeches elocution, folk dances, drawing and painting competitions.
PTA : The Parents meet the teachers and headmistress twice in a year. On these occasions they discuss, take suggestions or give suggestions for the progress of their ward.
